Join The Pedal Ahead Movement!

Pedal Ahead develops programs to incentivize the use of electric bikes as a game changing method of transportation. Making it easier for people to travel throughout their communities.

Our San Diego specific programs are based on an eBike loan-to-own program that enables eligible participants to work toward owning an eBike by completing program requirements.

Participants commit to riding a minimum number of miles per month over two years while recording trips and sharing regular feedback about the experience. Participants must also secure low-cost bicycle insurance. Participants become eligible to own the Pedal Ahead eBike following the successful completion of the two-year term!

The program was envisioned, designed, and created by San Diego County Supervisor Nathan Fletcher and Pedal Ahead 501c3, with initial funding provided by San Diego County, The Left Coast Fund, The San Diego Foundation’s COVID-19 Response Fund, and SDG&E.

Due to the overwhelming response to the Pedal Ahead community e-bike program, we are temporarily suspending new application submittals until we receive our next allocation of electric bicycles.

For the hundreds of applicants, we say Thank You!

The Pedal Ahead team is working through applications and will be contacting those of you approved for the program in the coming days.

If you applied later in the allocation and will not be receiving the incentive, we will be sending out those notifications soon as well.

We do our best to reply to all applicants promptly, but we appreciate your patience.
